Medical Alliance, Inc. Appoints Vice President Of Sales And Marketing

IRVING, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 12, 1997--Medical Alliance, Inc. (Nasdaq/NM:MAII) today announced the appointment of Rory A. Deal as the Company's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In this newly developed position, Mr. Deal will be responsible for the Company's sales and marketing efforts.
Before joining Medical Alliance, Mr. Deal was with AT&T Capital Corporation, an instrument and data services company. During his 12-year tenure with AT&T, he held various positions of increasing responsibility culminating with his promotion to Senior Vice President of North American Sales, where he was responsible for the entire 62-member sales force and was instrumental in successfully merging two companies. His education includes a Bachelor of Business Administration in Industrial Relations and Human Resources from the University of Iowa and a Masters of Business Administration in Human Behavior and Development from Amber University.

Medical Alliance, Inc. provides a broad range of services used to create temporary surgical sites in physicians' offices in 46 states and Canada. The Company has over 125 managed care contracts covering approximately 16 million lives and provides its service along two primary business lines -- medical surgical and aesthetic elective services. The Company's medical surgical services allow physicians to perform approximately 25 different insurance- reimbursable, office-based surgical procedures across numerous specialties, including gynecology, podiatry, urology and otolaryngology. Its aesthetic services are utilized primarily by plastic surgeons and dermatologists for cosmetic procedures such as skin resurfacing, laser hair removal, tattoo removal and vascular and pigmented lesion treatments, which include leg vein treatment. Currently, approximately 2,600 physicians perform 6,500 procedures monthly using Medical Alliance's services.
