Business Wire, March 17, 1997
MURRAY HILL, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 17, 1997--Dun & Bradstreet (D&B), the world's largest supplier of business information and receivables management services, announced today that it is now offering its popular Supplier Evaluation Report (SER) over the D&B Internet World Wide Web site (www.dnb.com). Internet users around the world can now purchase the report using a credit card.
The Supplier Evaluation Report is an easy-to-read, cost effective report that provides information specifically designed for purchasing professionals. The product provides an objective, third party view of suppliers located in the U.S. and includes information and analyses that help purchasers evaluate established and prospective suppliers. The report, which can be ordered on the headquarters of any of the more than 10 million U.S. establishments contained in D&B's premier database, is available on-line at a cost of $85.
"The Supplier Evaluation Report is a tremendous resource for companies of all sizes in every Internet-linked corner of the globe who want to confidently do business with U.S. suppliers," said Frank Fitzsimmons, senior vice president - Global Electronic Commerce at D&B.
Purchasing professionals using the SER can quickly assess the overall financial and operational performance of a new or established supplier. The SER includes business background of principals, payment trends (as reported to D&B), key financial ratios, plus an overall 1-9 risk score. The SER also indicates if a supplier is ISO 9000 registered and/or is a minority or women-owned business.
The Supplier Evaluation Report is one of many business resources D&B provides on the Internet. D&B's web site also provides free business information on a wide range of topics such as trends in worldwide regional growth, industry profitability, business failures, and employment.
