ADA awarded first Asian installation for circuit testing and performance monitoring at Chunghwa Telecom

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 12, 1997--Applied Digital Access Inc. (NASDAQ:ADAX) Monday announced that Chunghwa Telecom Co. Ltd. of Taiwan has placed an order for ADA's T3AS Test and Performance Monitoring System under a competitive bid.
As ADA's first Asian award, T3AS will provide full-time performance monitoring of Chunghwa Telecom's circuits and is planned for deployment by the Central Taiwan Business Group. With T3AS, Chunghwa Telecom can remotely obtain on-line performance data on DS1 circuits and test DS1 and DS0 circuits from a central location.
ADA's T3AS system enables organizations such as Chunghwa Telecom to offer improved reliability and performance along their DS1 and DS0 lines. Instead of having to send multiple units to test for trouble along a T1 line, T3AS allows the mance Monitoring System, Centralized Test System (CTS) and Remote Module, ADA has built a portfolio of proho are reevaluating and upgrading their infrastructure components to remain competitive.
ADA's other operations system software includes the Traffic Data Collection and Engineering (TDC&E) system which is a critical component in managing service quality in switched networks, and the Fault Management System (FMS) which is a highly scaleable alarm management system used to monitor the health of large heterogeneous networks in real time.
