CompuServe Network Services Establishes First Value Added Network Services In Vietnam And Expands Service into Singapore

COLUMBUS, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 14, 1997--CompuServe Network Services today announced it is establishing the first value-added network services available in Vietnam. The company also has expanded its global network into Singapore.

CompuServe Network Services has entered into a strategic partnership with Vietnam Datacommunication Company and High Performance Technology (HIPT) Company to create CompuServe Network Services Vietnam. By signing a memorandum of understanding and a network interconnection agreement with CompuServe Network Services, the new company will provide fully managed and supported X.25 and X.28 dial-up services expanding CNS into another difficult market where the industry offers very few choices.

CompuServe Network Services Vietnam will initially offer its services within the cities of Ha Noi (Hanoi), Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and Da Nang.

The company also announced that it has been licensed by the government of Singapore to provide X.28 dial-up services to multinational companies within that nation.
