Agile Software strengthens executive management team; names Quantum founder and former CEO Patterson to Board; appoints vice president for field operations

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 15, 1997--In a move to ensure continued high growth and strengthen its corporate and operational structure, Agile Software Corp. today announced three management additions:
-- Jim Patterson, 59, founder and former CEO of Quantum Corp. (NASDAQ:QNTM) joins the Agile Board of Directors.
-- Stan Smith, 39, recently vice president of sales at Adra Systems has been named Agile's vice president of field operations.
-- Dorothy Wise, 36, previously vice president for product development, was given additional responsibility for product support and is now vice president for product development & support.

He brings a tremendous amount of experience and insight in design engineering and manufacturing and in the growth cycles for enterprise application software suppliers."
Patterson also serves on the boards of directors at Clarify Inc., Aspect Telecommunications Corp. and Latitude Communications.
New vice president for field operations, Stan Smith was formerly vice president of North American sales at Adra Systems. While at Adra, Smith was responsible for more than 75% of Adra's product data management (PDM) revenue and successfully rebuilt the sales force, with a focus on growing their PDM business at triple digit rates. He has over 15 years experience in manufacturing software and systems. Smith will manage both sales activities and product implementations in the field.
Dorothy Wise, vice president for product development & support, joined Agile in March 1996. Before joining Agile, she was a vice president at Novell, Inc. (NASDAQ:NOVL) and the general manager of its Quattro Pro division. Winner of the Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN) award, Wise brings 15 years of experience in software research and development. At Agile, she has built a high performance, multi-team development organization focused on delivering top-quality off-the-shelf client/server and Java-based applications.
