Piper Jaffray launches Computer Telephony universe

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 16, 1997--Piper Jaffray Inc. announced its roll-out of the Computer Telephony (CT) universe, initiating coverage on seven major industry companies.
Senior Research Analyst Ted Jackson made the announcement as part of the expanding Technology team. Jackson joined Piper Jaffray in March. He reports to Chuck Webster, managing director and director of Equity Research.
Jackson's coverage divides the CT universe into five segments: CPE-based messaging, interactive voice response, call center equipment, enhanced services and core enabling technology. Jackson says he's "bullish" on the latter three, calling them "very attractive." The CT companies include Applied Voice Technology (AVTC), Boston Technology (BSN), Brooktrout Technology (BRKT), Davox (DAVX), Dialogic (DLGC), InterVoice (INTV) and Natural MicroSystems (NMSS).
Prior to joining Piper Jaffray, Jackson was with Hoak Breedlove Wesneski in Dallas. Jackson is a Certified Financial Analyst and holds an MBA from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He also earned a bachelor's degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, La. A native of St. Louis, Jackson and his wife reside in the Twin Cities.
