Crown Pacific files shelf registration

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 16, 1997--Crown Pacific Partners, L.P. (NYSE: CRO), an integrated forest products company based in the Pacific Northwest, today announced it has filed a shelf registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Form S-3 for the potential sale of up to 7,500,000 limited partnership units.
The units are expected to be used for future acquisitions. While the purpose of the registration is to allow the company financial flexibility for future partnership actions, the partnership has no immediate plans to offer the units being registered or to make an acquisition.
A registration statement relating to these securities has been filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, but has not yet become effective. These securities may not be sold nor may offers to buy to accepted before the registration statement becomes effective.
