Interphase Corp. appoints William Voss to board of directors

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 22, 1997--Interphase Corp. (NASDAQ/NMS:INPH) Thursday announced that William Voss, president, chief executive officer and a director of Intrepid Food Holdings Inc., in Chicago, has been named to the company's board of directors.
Voss has extensive operating experience. At Intrepid Food Holdings, his responsibilities include investment strategy, investment sourcing and the management of the Intrepid companies. Previously, Voss served as president and CEO of McCain Foods Inc., and as president and chief operating officer of Pilgrim's Pride Corp. He also was a principal with Booz, Allen & Hamilton, the management consulting firm.
"Bill is an excellent addition to the Interphase board of directors, with his extensive experience in management and operations, as well as his work in acquiring and building growth companies," said Stephen Polley, chairman, CEO and president of Interphase. "His strong credentials will be valuable assets to Interphase as we expand the global market for our high-performance networking and connectivity products."
Voss has served on numerous corporate, trade association and not-for-profit boards of directors. He is a graduate of the University of Texas, and received a master's degree in business administration from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Voss also is a certified public accountant.
Voss assumes the board position vacated by Robert H. Lyon, who resigned to devote time to other business interests. "After six years of serving on the board, I feel Interphase is well-positioned in the communication marketplace to have solid growth in the next several years," Lyon said.
Founded in 1974, Interphase Corp. is a leading international supplier of high-performance connectivity solutions for computer networking environments. The company's primary product lines are based on established and emerging technologies for the high-speed transmission and storage of information in local and wide area networks (LANs and WANs). The LAN products are based upon FDDI, ATM and Fast Ethernet technologies, and provide the network interface within server and desktop environments.
The WAN products employ remote access, ISDN, xDSL and X.25 technologies to provide connectivity solutions for remote sites in heterogeneous, multi-vendor networking environments. In addition, the company's mass storage products, based upon SCSI and Fibre Channel technologies, create high-bandwidth connectivity between networks and mass storage devices.
With headquarters in Dallas, Interphase markets its products to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), distributors, systems integrators, value-added resellers (VARs) and large end-users through a worldwide sales and service network.
