Business Wire, May 6, 1997
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 6, 1997--TeleVideo, Inc. (NASDAQ:TELV), a pioneer of display solutions, is aggressively re-entering the monitor market with the SV210, a high-resolution 17-inch color monitor with a 15.8-inch diagonal viewable area.
At an MSRP of $568, the SV210 is one of the least expensive high performance display units in its category, joining the company's new SuperView Series of feature-rich, affordably priced monitors for PC and Macintosh systems.
The SV210 is a flat-screen monitor featuring a dot pitch of 0.26mm, a maximum non-interlaced resolution of 1280 x 1024 at a 65Hz refresh rate, and scanning frequencies of 30 to 70KHz horizontal and 50 to 120Hz vertical for flicker-free operation. The dot pitch is among the finest available for 17-inch Shadow Mask monitors, producing the sharp, crisp detail needed for rendering intricate CAD/CAM and desktop publishing images. The high scanning frequencies maximize the use of high performance graphics cards, including TeleVideo's TeleGraphics 3D and TeleGraphics SX64V .
The easy-access On Screen Display (OSD) has memory recall and adjusts for horizontal/vertical sizing and positioning, including pin-cushioning, trapezoid, tilt/rotation control and manual degauss. The screen surface is treated with an anti-reflection and anti-static coating. The unit is Plug & Play compatible for ease of installation with Windows 95.
The SV210 supports all VGA, SuperVGA, XGA and VESA standard resolutions for PC systems and all Macintosh systems of IIci or greater. It also has a streamlined look with rounded-off edges and a sleeker base.
The monitor includes a three-year warranty on CRT, parts and labor, unlimited technical support, and BBS and Internet access to customers.
Second in a Series
The SV210 is the second monitor in TeleVideo's new SuperView series, a family of affordable, high-capacity monitors for a full range of applications including conventional business, home office and educational use as well as gaming and entertainment. The SuperView series debuted with the SV100 (MSRP $324), a 15-inch color monitor featuring a 13.8-inch diagonal viewable area, 0.28mm dot pitch and maximum non-interlaced resolution of 1280 x 1024 at 65Hz.
