Cedric Beckett Elected Vice President of Barnes Group and President of Barnes Aerospace

BRISTOL, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 14, 1997--Cedric D. Beckett has been elected vice president of Barnes Group Inc. and president of Barnes Aerospace, it was announced today by Theodore E. Martin, president and CEO of Barnes Group. He was also elected a corporate officer of the company.
In his new position, Beckett will be responsible for all of the company's Barnes Aerospace operations, which include the OEM units (precision-machining and advanced fabrications) and the overhaul and repair services business.
Beckett started with the company as an operations analyst in 1994. In the same year, he was promoted to director of operations at Windsor Manufacturing/Barnes Aerospace. In July, 1995, he became president of Windsor Manufacturing and on August 1 this year was appointed president of the OEM and Advanced Fabrications divisions of Barnes Aerospace.
Prior to joining Barnes Group, Beckett spent eight years at Hamilton Standard in a number of supervisory and managerial capacities, including program planning, operations and project engineering.
Beckett has earned two Masters degrees from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute -- an M.S. degree in operations management and an M.B.A. degree in finance. He also holds a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Polytechnic Institute of New York.
He and his wife and daughter live in North Granby, Conn.
