Internet Specialties West Lands Two Big Government Contracts

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 14, 1997-- Internet Specialties West Inc. (ISWest) has signed multiple contracts to provide Internet access, hosting and Web design for the cities of Agoura Hills and Westlake Village.

Residents and businesses will now be able to visit the Agoura Hills and Westlake Village city halls from the comfort of their own home or office. These "virtual city halls" can be accessed at http://www.ci.agoura-hills.ca.us (Agoura Hills) and http://www.wlv.org (Westlake Village).

Per their contracts with ISWest, both cities have installed 128k ISDN dedicated connections at their facilities. ISWest will maintain their sites on its own high-speed, dedicated redundant Web server.

"Citizens will finally be able to e-mail their council members and browse upcoming City Council and Planning Commission agendas to determine if they want to attend the next meeting," said Drew J. Kaplan, chief operating officer at ISWest. Minutes for these meetings will also be available online for review afterward.

In creating an Internet presence, both Westlake Village and Agoura Hills provide a wealth of information for public use. Categories at these sites include City Departments, Calendar of Meetings, General Services, City Information and Recreation. This information is referenced, cross-linked and updated monthly.
