United Airlines New Ad Campaign Gets a Lift From Brando and Cyberia Inc
Business Wire, Nov 4, 1997
SANTA MONICA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 4, 1997--Cyberia Inc., the commercial music and soundtrack production company co-owned by composer Hans Zimmer and producer Jay Rifkin, Tuesday announced it has completed an international United Airlines campaign with Young & Rubicam in New York.
The 30- and 60-second commercials, featuring a voice-over by Oscar-winning actor Marlon Brando, began airing around the world this month.
Cyberia composed the music for the spot, titled "Boy On A Hill," which shows United Airlines' innovation and involvement in business travel.
Harry Gregson-Williams -- whose recent work includes scores for Peter Hewitt's "The Borrowers," a Polygram film starring John Goodman, Sony's upcoming "Replacement Killers," and who is arranging, conducting and orchestrating songs with Hans Zimmer for DreamWorks' "The Prince of Egypt" -- composed the music, and Maureen Thompson produced.
"We enjoy working with Cyberia because of the great talent and musical expertise that they bring to each project," said Hunter Murtaugh, executive vice president music director for Young & Rubicam. "Their experience scoring major motion pictures enables them to create commercial scores that resonate with viewers."
"In the same way that United Airlines brings people together, we wanted to bring the right composer to the project," said Maureen Thompson, executive producer for Cyberia. "Harry, with his childlike, magical score, was the ideal composer for this uplifting campaign."
In addition to the United Airlines account, Cyberia will also be producing spots for Dr Pepper, Footlocker, Universal Studios, Tropicana, Pringles and Milton Bradley.
Cyberia is a commercial music production company dedicated to creating and producing superior quality music composition and soundtracks for broadcast advertisers. The company's work has been included in advertising campaigns for Nike, Coca-Cola, American Express, Motorola and Dr Pepper. Cyberia and Media Revolution, a leading Internet site and multimedia developer, together make up Cyberia Holdings Inc. (OTC:CBHD). They are part of Media Ventures Entertainment Group.
