Cytlok from Cytware Corporation Enters Beta Testing; MCI and Other Companies to Begin Beta Testing; Unique Internet and Computer Security, Control and Privacy Software

Business Wire, Oct 1, 1997

FORT WORTH, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 1, 1997--Cytware Corporation announced that the beta of Cytlok, a unique computer security and control software program, is being released this week. Cytlok is a comprehensive, client side control and security software program that serves the Internet and network users' needs to maintain privacy, control use and secure critical data.

"We're especially pleased that Cytlok is releasing beta on schedule because there has never been a greater need for a single, all-purpose product that offers complete control, privacy and security protection," said Paul Plummer, president and CEO of Cytware Corporation. "Internet-related hacker intrusions are increasing at an alarming rate, accompanied by a dramatic increase in the associated risks to PC and network computer users. Currently, no other product on the market will eliminate all these risks," he added.

"Our beta partners for Cytlok include MCI, Unison Universal, government agencies and private organizations," said Plummer. "These organizations include Internet providers, so they have a complete understanding of the security issues we're all facing on the World Wide Web. These companies also require the security features Cytlok offers because of the many internal networks they operate," he added.

Cytlok guards the boot sector of the hard drive, alerting computer users whenever an attempt is made to compromise the integrity of the computer or system. This advancement in containing security breaches protects the computer from hostile applets, Trojan horses, worms and logic bombs -- some of the most destructive devices affecting the computing community today.

Cytlok acts like a sentry at the entrance of the computer, allowing users to prevent unauthorized access, including reading, writing, changing or deleting information. With an easy-to-use interface, Cytlok allows users to set time frame parameters for use, blocks predefined Internet sites, prevents hostile attacks and stops retrieval attempts from user's hard drives. Cytlok also prohibits intruders from writing information to user's files and folders which could otherwise be attributed to the user.

Cytlok is expected to be available from major software retailers by the 4th Quarter 1997. Cytware Corporation, headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, focuses solely on developing and marketing Internet and network solutions which provide the most sought after personal and network security, privacy and control products.
