Business Wire, Oct 10, 1997

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 10, 1997--Craig A. Parsons has been named to the newly created position of senior vice president, corporate communications and investor relations for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. (MGM), it was announced Friday by Frank G. Mancuso, chairman and chief executive officer.

In his new position, Parsons will be responsible for overseeing all corporate communications and media relations, as well as certain shareholder and investor relations activities.

"Craig's broad experience with both the media and the investment community, and his specific background working as an important part of the MGM team, make him exceptionally qualified for this new position," Mancuso said.

MGM Vice Chairman A. Robert Pisano said, "Since Craig's been a consultant to MGM for many years, we knew through that relationship that he was the right person to fill this vital role."

"This is a tremendously exciting time to be part of MGM's expanded visibility that comes with life as a public entity. Although the company is one of the world's most recognized brand names, the dynamics of today's MGM are not yet widely understood. There are substantial opportunities to communicate this story," Parsons added.

Parsons has served as a communications consultant and corporate spokesman for MGM since 1989 through the corporate and investor relations firm of which he was a principal, Pondel Parsons & Wilkinson (PPW). He was with the firm since 1979, working with public and private companies in a wide range of industry sectors.

He previously was responsible for corporate and investor relations at two New York Stock Exchange-listed companies. Parsons holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Southern California.

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer is actively engaged in the worldwide production and distribution of entertainment product, including motion pictures, television programming, home video, interactive media, music, licensed merchandise, a 4,000-title film library, a 6,700-title home video library and a significant television library.
