Micron Internet Services Upgrades Network to Enhance Service

BOISE, Idaho--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 16, 1997--Micron Internet Services, a division of Micron Technology, Inc., and the largest direct Internet service provider in Idaho, today announced significant capacity increases in its multi-homed, BGP-routed network.
Micron's Internet Access Network is now comprised of primary connections to the Internet, located in Boise, Salt Lake City, and Spokane using National Service Providers MCI, Sprint, and UUNet for a total of 13.5 megabits of Internet connectivity.

Micron's Internet network is now connected to the Internet via three National service providers. "We have significantly increased our Network's capacity and reliability," said Todd Chavez, sales and marketing manager for Micron Internet Services. "If, for some reason, one of these providers should experience downtime in our region, our network will immediately begin routing all requests through the other providers."

"This level of Internet access is unequaled in our region, yet it is becoming increasingly critical to companies using the Internet as an integral part of their daily business activity."
Micron Internet Services began serving the Boise, ID., area in December 1994. Micron Internet Services is a division of Micron Technology, Inc. Micron Technology, Inc., and its subsidiaries manufacture and market DRAMs, very fast SRAMs, FLASH, other semiconductor components, personal computer systems, remote intelligent communications (RIC) products, and complex printed circuit board assemblies.
