CuraGen Files for Initial Public Offering

NEW HAVEN, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 16, 1997--CuraGen Corp., a Connecticut-based company, announced today that it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed initial public offering of its common stock.
CuraGen develops and applies genomics technologies, processes and information systems for gene-based drug discovery, development and pharmacogenomics.
The terms of the public offering are not yet disclosed and will be made only by prospectus. Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, Lehman Brothers and Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. will act as managing underwriters of the offering.
A registration statement on Form S-1 relating to these securities has been filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission but has not yet become effective. These securities may not be sold nor may any offers to buy be accepted prior to the time the registration statement becomes effective.
