Canon Expands Web Site Section for Semiconductor Equipment

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 22, 1997--Canon U.S.A., Inc., has expanded the section of its internet web site allocated to semiconductor equipment. The new section is at http://www.usa.canon.com/steppers/.> "Pushing the Limits" is the theme for escorting visitors through Canon's leading developments in microlithography and the technical resources behind them. Visitors to the new web section can review specifications and view product literature for all Canon photolithography tools, including the new FPA-4000ES1 scanning stepper and the FPA-3000EX3L--the first stepper for 300mm wafer fabrication.

Also, the web section now includes detailed information on the extensive array of technical and education courses Canon provides for its customers, plus class schedules and an on-line request form.

Other information added to the new section includes technical articles and press releases. Canon employment opportunities appear in a "Getting in Touch" section, with division office locations and e-mail addresses. "Other Items of Interest" include a schedule of Canon's appearances at industry trade shows and links to other web sites related to chip fabrication and to the semiconductor industry in general.

In addition, the new section provides a link to the technology web site for Canon's innovative new ELTRAN(TM) SOL wafers. ELTRAN (Epitaxial Layer TRANsfer) batch processing uses wafer bonding and highly selective etching to transfer an extremely uniform epitaxial layer over porous silicon.
