HMT to Supply Western Digital Corporation with Advanced Magnetoresistive Media for its Newest 9.1GB Enterprise Storage Product

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 8, 1997--HMT Technology today announced that Western Digital Corporation has qualified HMT's magnetoresistive, laser-textured media for its just announced 9.1GB enterprise storage product.
"We are pleased to have been selected as a primary supplier for this new, second generation enterprise storage product by Western Digital," Ron Schauer, Chairman and President of HMT said. Completing the qualification was a tremendous cooperative development team effort between Western Digital and HMT which continues the close relationship developed with the first generation enterprise storage product introduced over a year ago."
