(NASDAQ: JHPC), formerly Jim's Hjelm's Private Collection, Ltd. today announced that its bridal designer, Lazaro, had been awarded a 1997 Distinctive Excellence in the Bridal Industry (DEBI) Award in the category of Style Innovator for Bridal Gowns.

The award, regarded as among the most prestigious in the bridal industry, is given in recognition of the designer producing the finest bridal stylings of the year.

Lazaro was selected from among four nominees in the bridal category, who, previously, had been selected from among 7,000 bridal retailers nationwide by DEBI Award sponsors Modern Bride Magazine, the National Bridal Market Association and the Chicago Apparel Center.
