IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 10, 1997--Linksys, a leading provider of networking hardware solutions for small and medium businesses (SMBs), announces the newest mobile addition to the Instant EtherFast Series of Fast Ethernet networking products, the EtherFast 10/100 PC Card.
The PC card is available immediately through Linksys' authorized retail, catalog, VAR, reseller, and distribution partners throughout the United States and Canada at an average street price of $129.
Designed for use in the office or on the road, the 10/100 PC cards allow mobile users to access the Internet, exchange e-mail, access corporate data, and utilize multimedia or videoconferencing at either 10Mbps or 100Mbps speeds. With NWAY switching technology, the 10/100 PC Card automatically senses both half and full duplex modes, and the network speed being utilized to support speeds of 10Mbps, 20Mbps, 100Mbps or 200Mbps.
Housed in a road-tested stainless steel shell, the PC Card includes a 32KB buffer for rapid file transfers, low voltage operation that's perfect for energy-saving notebooks, and a hot-swappable feature that allows the card to be inserted or removed without powering down the PC.
Offering a 16-bit architecture, plug-and-play compatibility and a complete software suite that includes Service Support for Windows 95, AMI, Award, Databook, IBM, Phoenix, and SystemSoft, the EtherFast 10/100 PC card offers a wide range of compatible support.
