Fujitsu Ships Portable Hard Drive Line Into Channel
Business Wire, Sept 2, 1997
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 2, 1997--Fujitsu Computer Products of America, the world's fastest growing hard drive company, today introduced into the distribution channel its 2.5-inch drives for portable computers.
Following its OEM success, Fujitsu will now supply the notebook upgrade market by targeting VARs and system integrators through key distribution partners.
The migration of storage-hungry applications from desktop to portable systems has increased the need for larger hard drive capacities, expanding the upgrade market for 2.5-inch notebook hard drives. Fujitsu will serve the market through strategic alliances with major distributors including Ingram Micro, Marshall and Synnex.
"Fujitsu is known for its commitment to the channel through its innovative programs, solid product quality, quick response, aggressive pricing and its No Excuses(TM) warranty program," said Steve Woo, vice president of computer products for Marshall Industries.
"Our growth in the channel contributed significantly to Fujitsu's recent rise in worldwide hard drive rankings," said Doug May, vice president of marketing and distribution for Fujitsu Computer Products of America. "This is just another step in our commitment to our channel partners."
