Group Technologies Trunk Encryption Device Receives National Security Agency Endorsement

TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 23, 1997--Group Technologies Corporation (Nasdaq/NM:GRTK) announced today that it has received a letter of endorsement from the National Security Agency (NSA) for the Communications Security (COMSEC) features of it's KIV-19 Trunk Encryption Device. This device is used to secure U.S. Government information, and was developed under the Commercial COMSEC Endorsement Program (CCEP). As a result of this endorsement, GroupTech is authorized to sell the KIV-19 to U.S. Government departments and agencies, eligible government contractors, and certain other purchasers as authorized by NSA.

In the letter dated 19 September, Thomas J. McDermott, Deputy Director for Information Systems Security said "Congratulations to the Group Technologies Corporation Team. Your professionalism during this effort has been noteworthy and of immense value to the program."
