ModaCAD Licenses CAD and Electronic Merchandising Software to Red Kap Industries, a Division of VF Corp

Business Wire, Sept 5, 1997

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 5, 1997--ModaCAD Inc. (Nasdaq:MODA) Friday announced that Red Kap Industries, a division of VF Corp., has licensed the company's CAD and electronic merchandising software for design, development, product sampling and interactive storyboard presentations.

Financial details of this agreement were not disclosed.

Joyce Freedman, president of ModaCAD, said, ``The signing of Red Kap, our third VF Corp. division, puts us one step closer to our goal of standardizing all VF Corp. design and merchandising divisions on ModaCAD systems.''

Fern Holley, Red Kap's image program manager, added: ``ModaCAD's software enables us to show customers what an entire program will look like, not just an individual product. Additionally, the ability to create and print photo-realistic prototypes which are now included in our corporate image presentations has been a real advantage because all attendees of the meeting have their own copies available for immediate reference.''

Red Kap Industries, located in Nashville, Tenn., is a division of VF Corp., the world's largest publicly held apparel manufacturer. Sister companies include Wrangler, Jantzen, Lee, Girbaud and Healthtex.

ModaCAD's core rendering technology enables computers to create photo-realistic synthetic 3-D images on a computer screen from computer-generated data in real time. ModaCAD develops, markets, and licenses 3-D rendering, modeling and virtual-reality software for a broad variety of applications to the commercial, consumer and OEM marketplaces.

ModaCAD holds two patents on its proprietary rendering technology and distributes its products to more than 33 countries worldwide.
