ArcSoft Introduces Zipshot — the Snappy-er Still Image and Video Capture Solution for Only $149
Business Wire, Sept 8, 1997
FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 8, 1997--ArcSoft, Inc., developer of PhotoStudio(R) for Windows, announces the September release of Zipshot, the still image video capture device that provides the complete solution for digital capture.
Zipshot works with video cameras, digital cameras, VCRs, televisions and other video sources to capture both still images and streaming video from live and recorded scenes. The hardware and seamlessly-integrated software bundle is priced at $149 (estimated street price). ArcSoft's Zipshot and other new products received rave reviews at the RetailVision Fall '97 Show, The Hyatt Regency San Diego, San Diego, Calif. Sept. 2-5.
Zipshot provides high quality video and still image capture from both live and prerecorded video sources. Its rapid capture processing from full motion video gives flawless still image captures every time. The device also boasts the highest quality video capture available from any device in its class. Additionally, Zipshot's up-to-the-moment full color motion previewing lets the user see exactly what is being captured in smooth succession. Zipshot's Picture Adjustment features let the user fine tune brightness and color settings before each capture.
Zipshot offers unparalleled convenience and ease of use. ArcSoft's Zip-Along(TM) technology means Zipshot can be used in conjunction with printers, Iomega Zip drives, parallel port scanners and other parallel port devices. This "pass-through" effectively eliminates the frequent need for unplugging and plugging devices and rebooting the computer. The device shares power with the computer's mouse or keyboard, also eliminating the need for batteries or an AC adapter.
ArcSoft's Zipshot supports NTSC, SECAM, PAL and S-Video and works with all TWAIN-compliant software. The Zipshot device and the bundled ArcSoft imaging software are designed to work seamlessly together.
The software bundle includes PhotoImpression -- an easy-to-use image editor; PhotoFantasy -- an entertaining image creator recently released to the retail market; Multimedia Email -- an electronic mail greeting card designer with images, sound and video; PhotoPrinter -- an easy-to-use print utility for printing multiple copies of an image in varying sizes on a single sheet of paper; and LiveCom video conferencing software.
"Zipshot is more than just the best capture device on the market," says Todd Rumaner, director of sales and marketing at ArcSoft. "It's also the perfect mobile solution for video teleconferencing, a highly versatile security device and an accelerator for downloading photos from digital cameras. Zipshot's so multifunctional, we had a hard time fitting all its features on a single brochure!"
