Business Wire, August 14, 1998

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 14, 1998--ModaCAD Inc. (Nasdaq/NM:MODA) Friday announced that it has signed an agreement with Jessica McClintock, a well-known designer, manufacturer and retailer of dresses and fragrance, to participate in ModaCAD's upcoming e-business fashion-content manager, named Fashion Trip.

One of the most recognizable names in fashion, Jessica McClintock's focus is romantic clothes for special occasions. Jessica McClintock fashions are seen at more proms, graduations, weddings and special occasions than any other designer's. The key to McClintock's success has been her timeless and classic style.

For 30 years, the Jessica McClintock brand has built its solid foundation and name recognition with contemporary designs, from prom dresses to wedding gowns to her newly launched signatures collection.

With approximately $150 million in sales, the firm has expanded its scope beyond dresses into fragrance and children's wear, but the core business remains focused on three dress lines: Gunne Sax for juniors, Scott McClintock for the moderate market and Jessica McClintock in better.

Joyce Freedman, chief executive officer of ModaCAD, said: "Fashion Trip's target demographic of young women ages 15-28 have so many special events in their lives, from proms and graduations to weddings. With the inclusion of Jessica McClintock, Fashion Trip meets every fashion need with apparel for all the occasions in a young woman's life."

According to McClintock: "This is one trip we wouldn't want to miss. ModaCAD's cutting-edge technological advancement is the perfect medium for exposure in the marketplace. This opportunity allows us to both display merchandise that is indicative of Jessica McClintock's core consumer and at the same time introduce and wow her with our new contemporary fashions."

Fashion Trip is an interactive, Web-enabled online shopping experience that incorporates updatable 3-D fashion stores and allows users to access merchandise in a personalized environment. ModaCAD's product is a unique e-business program combining technology, fashion, beauty and entertainment in one lifestyle venue.

The Jessica McClintock name is known everywhere beautiful dresses are sold. Jessica McClintock can be found at better department and specialty stores, including her 25 namesake retail boutiques.

Fashion Trip is a joint development project by ModaCAD, a worldwide leader in fashion electronic merchandising, and Intel Corp. Fashion Trip will be published by Sierra Home, a division of Sierra Inc.

ModaCAD is rapidly becoming a premier developer and supplier of digital content-management technology enabling advanced product visualization for electronic commerce. For the past 10 years, it has leveraged its core, patented rendering technology into a variety of electronic merchandising products targeted primarily at the home- design, home-furnishings, apparel and industrial-design industries.
