Gannett Retail Advertising Group Names Vice President/Sales

ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 17, 1998--
Jack Riordan has been named vice president/sales for the Gannett Retail Advertising Group.
Riordan's appointment was announced today by Donald M. Stinson, vice president/advertising in Gannett's Newspaper Division and president of the Retail Advertising Group.
The group, based in Chicago, represents the company's newspapers, other than USA TODAY, in the sale of advertising to national and regional retailers and service providers and also handles representation for Gannett's Four-Color National Newspaper Network.
Riordan, 44, was previously sales manager for the Post-It Note Media division of 3M Corporation and served as product development manager for Media Networks, Inc., then a 3M subsidiary, selling local advertising in national magazines.
A native of St. Louis, Mo., Riordan began his sales career in the advertising department of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in 1977. He is a 1976 graduate ofthe University of Missouri School of Journalism.
Gannett is a nationwide news and information company that publishes 84 daily newspapers, including USA TODAY, and USA WEEKEND, a newspaper magazine. Gannett also operates 21 television stations and cable television systems in five states.
