Epson Cuts Projector Price by Nearly 17 Percent; The Epson PowerLite 7000XB Now An Even Better Value for the Power Presenter
Business Wire, August 18, 1998
TORRANCE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 18, 1998--Epson America Inc., the creator of high-quality, award-winning digital imaging products, Tuesday announced a reduced price for its high-performance, portable PowerLite 7000XB.
The brightest portable three-LCD XGA (1024 x 768) projector in its category, the PowerLite 7000XB is immediately available for $9,999 from $11,999 MSRP. Introduced in January 1998, the PowerLite 7000XB provides an industry-leading combination of price, performance and portability. This multifaceted and powerful projector delivers a remarkable 650 ANSI lumens, an impressive 300:1 contrast ratio and the "never-say-die" five-year life span of the EON II lamp system.
"Not only does Epson aim to provide high performance products for today's power presenters, but we also strive to achieve the most cost-efficient means of delivering cutting-edge technology," said Jim Hall, director, audiovisual products, Epson. "With its award-winning design and new low price point, theEpson PowerLite 7000XB exemplifies this goal."
PowerLite 7000XB Features
The PowerLite 7000XB is the brightest three-LCD high-performance XGA projector in its class. Bursting with 650 ANSI lumens and an exemplary 300:1 contrast ratio, the PowerLite 7000XB provides sharper colors and richer, truer blacks even in a well-lit environment. This projector also achieves an impressive 85% illumination uniformity ratio, effectively eliminating hot spots found with other projectors.
The PowerLite 7000XB uses three Poly-Silicon LCDs: one for red, one for blue and one for green to provide crisp text and graphics with accurate, saturated, brilliant colors. An added benefit of Epson's solid state LCD design is proven reliability.
Epson's own patented SizeWise resizing technology gives the PowerLite 7000XB unprecedented versatility, supporting high resolution SXGA (1280 x 1024) images in addition to SVGA (800 x 600) and VGA (640 x 480). This projector includes two computer inputs and two mouse ports for use on either Windows or Mac platforms.
In the event that simultaneous presenters have two similar or two different platform notebooks, the PowerLite 7000XB allows seamless duo platform compatibility. All input ports, cables and an easy-to-use remote control device are supplied with the projectors for connecting users' existing video and computer displays. Adapters and cables are available for popular workstations.
Warranty and Support
Epson's PowerLite 7000XB carries a standard two-year warranty including the EPSON Road Service Program. This warranty program allows customers to receive a replacement product within one business day if a problem is encountered that cannot be corrected by telephone technical support.
For presenters that need immediate technical help, included with the PowerLite 7000XB is the EPSON Private Line phone card that provides the industry's quickest support access. The PowerLite 7000XB is also supported by the EPSON Connection, a fully automated customer support and technical assistance line.
