UC Berkeley Extension Opens Doors to the Global Market With a New Professional Sequence in International Business
Business Wire, August 19, 1998
BERKELEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 19, 1998--Global markets continue to develop and expand at unparalleled rates. For individuals and companies wishing to make a successful entry into the global market, it is essential to have a solid background in the intricacies of international business.
This fall, UC Berkeley Extension offers a new three-course professional sequence in international business to provide potential global players with the knowledge and skills necessary to compete in this diverse marketplace.
The program explores the unique aspects of managing a global enterprise, developing and implementing global marketing strategies and obtaining international financing. The three required courses are "International Business Management," International Finance" and "International Marketing." In addition to these three courses, students may choose from one of several other courses in international business to complete the elective requirement. Enrollment in the program begins September 1. For more information or an application, call 510/643-2180, or e-mail busmgmnt@unx.berkeley.edu.
"Our new Professional Sequence in International Business is a very important and timely addition to Extension's Business and Management programs," says Robert Carroll, program director. "As more and more of our companies go 'global,' and, as more and more of us become involved in international business, we often do so without a full understanding of the crucial differences involved in successful international business management." After completing the sequence, students will have an understanding of effective management of global industries and the cultural and governmental influences on international business.
To order a catalog with details about the more than 1,200 courses offered by UC Berkeley Extension for the fall semester, call 510/642-4111, or visit Extension's website and enroll online at www.berkeley.edu/unex.
