Northwest Pipe Co. Wins Las Vegas Bid

PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 24, 1998--Northwest Pipe Co. (NASDAQ:NWPX) reported today that it has been selected to supply approximately $6 million of steel pipe for a Las Vegas pipeline by J.R. Jacks Construction.
Northwest Pipe is expected to supply over 28,000 feet of 78" welded steel pipe and fittings for East Valley Lateral Contract 130-C. Final approval is required from the Southern Nevada Water Authority. Work is expected to begin in November and be completed in six to nine months.
Northwest Pipe Co. manufactures and markets welded steel pipe in two business segments. Its Water Transmission Group is a leading supplier of large diameter, high pressure steel pipe products that are used primarily for water transmission in the United States and Canada. Its Tubular Products Group manufactures smaller diameter, electric resistance welded steel pipe for a wide range of construction, agricultural, energy, industrial and mechanical applications. The company is headquartered in Portland.
