Dolphin Interconnect Solutions Restructures to Strengthen Its Core Business Operations

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 27, 1998--Martin Albert, chairman of Dolphin Interconnect Solutions Inc., announced that effective Aug. 14, 1998, the company will follow the recent trend of other technology companies and restructure its operations to strengthen its core business capabilities, R&D programs and customer- support operations, and improve its cash-flow metrics.
J.C. "Pat" Darden, a current and continuing member of Dolphin's board of directors, has been appointed chief executive officer. Judy Dickinson continues as chief financial officer, with Mark Van Vranken continuing as controller. Kare Lochsen continues as managing director of Dolphin Interconnect Solutions AS in Oslo, Norway --a wholly owned subsidiary.
The company will maintain its offices in Westlake Village; Framingham, Mass.; and Oslo.
Dolphin's ToolWorks group has not been restructured but will begin operation as an independent division.
Albert said, "This reorganization will allow the company to achieve positive cash flow from its present operations, while improving its ability to accelerate its planned product enhancements in support of its many customers and customer-partners who are committed to Enterprise Class System Area Network Interconnect using SCI technology."
