MetaCreations Corp. (Nasdaq:MCRE) announced that Epson America Inc. has licensed Painter 5 and Kai's Photo SOAP SE, now shipping with selected Epson scanners and printers.

Painter 5, MetaCreations' powerful and robust digital-painting technology, gives digital artists and graphic designers sophisticated and professional results that have become the creative standard for computer art.

The EPSON Expression 636 Artist 2 and Pro 2 configurations, which now include Painter 5, deliver high-quality scanning with optimized results from computer-generated artwork from graphics software programs such as Painter.

Kai's Photo SOAP SE is included with the EPSON Stylus Color 850 ink-jet printer and gives virtually anyone with a home computer the ability to "clean up" images.

SOAP SE features a fun-to-use interface designed to encourage exploration and creativity through direct, intuitive real-time interaction with images taken from scanners, digital cameras, the Internet, 35mm photos developed on CD-ROM or floppy disk, video capture devices, as well as family photographs from the attic.

The EPSON Stylus Color 850, with its improved photo-quality imaging technology and fast print speeds, provides a high-performance solution for printing digital photos that have been enhanced using Kai's Photo SOAP SE.
