ENGLEWOOD, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 31, 1998--ICG Netcom (NASDAQ: ICGX) today announced the launch of ISPconnect, a new dedicated access service plan designed specifically for local and regional Internet Service Providers (ISPs). Available in major markets around the nation, ISPconnect(TM) allows ISPs to leverage ICG Netcom's large national backbone network and comprehensive Service Level Agreement (SLA) to provide high-quality, reliable Internet access to their customers.
The service is part of ICG Netcom's wholesale program and features point-to-point fractional and full T-1 bandwidth options from 512Kbps to 3.0 Mbps (dual T-1) with competitive flat-rate pricing.

ICG Netcom utilizes a fully integrated ATM switched network, which is connected directly to the following NAPs: Ameritech NAP-Chicago; CIX-Palo Alto, CA; MAE-East-Washington D.C.; MAE-West-San Jose, Calif.; PacBell NAP-San Francisco; and Sprint NAP-New York/NJ. The company also operates 13 network hubs with over 235 Points of Presence (POPs) nationwide and fully redundant data centers.
Reliability and Support
All ICG Netcom ISP customers receive toll-free, person-to-person service, which is available around the clock. The service includes coordination of line installation and testing, domain name registration, and ongoing line monitoring and maintenance. In addition, ISPconnect customers will benefit from one of the industry's most comprehensive SLA which guarantees 99.5 percent connection availability each month. Under the agreement, eligible ISPs may qualify for a 25 percent credit if the guaranteed availability is not met.
