Quickturn Design Systems Announces Major Court Win Over Aptix Corporation; U.S. District Court Dismisses Antitrust Suit Against Quickturn

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 31, 1998--Quickturn Design Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:QKTN) today announced that on August 27, 1998, Judge Jeremy Fogel of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, granted Quickturn's motion for summary judgment and dismissed Aptix's antitrust suit against Quickturn.
Aptix Corporation's November 1996 suit specifically alleged violations of certain antitrust laws and asked for monetary damages and a dedication of certain Quickturn patents to the public and/or the granting of a forced license to Aptix under those patents.
