GartnerGroup Launches Business Technology Advisor; Strategic Advantage For Business Leaders
Business Wire, August 4, 1998
STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 4, 1998--Gartner Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: GART) today announced the launch of Business Technology Advisor, a new research and advisory service designed to help enterprise leaders make smarter business and technology decisions that enable them to truly profit from information technology (IT).
"Today, the stakes have been raised. IT decisions not only affect competitiveness, but they increasingly determine corporate success and, often, survival. Business Technology Advisor is an essential component of any business leader's strategic toolkit," John W. Geyer, business leader, Business Research And Strategy Services, GartnerGroup, said.
GartnerGroup research indicates that by 2000, 80 cents of every corporate dollar spent on IT will be allocated from non-IT budgets. "Increasingly, decisions about IT spending will be made or influenced by business leaders who are less familiar with the risks and rewards of technology," Geyer said. "The goal of Business Technology Advisor is to broaden clients' awareness of the strategic value of IT and provide perspective, tools and frameworks to enhance their decision making."
Business Technology Advisor is a suite of complementary products composed of five offerings:
Business Technology Journal (BTJ) Interactive is a weekly, Web-based
research product that provides business leaders with information and recommendations for integrating technology with strategic business goals.
Business Technology Journal is a quarterly publication that
complements and expands upon research, analysis and decision-making frameworks featured on BTJ Interactive. The magazine format fits neatly into briefcases for easy access when traveling and is a comfortable alternative for those who prefer to read off-line.
Business Strategy Sessions provide a one-day, face-to-face strategic
planning session between GartnerGroup analysts and the client's management team.
Business Audio Conferences provide six one-hour audioconferences with
GartnerGroup analysts. Discussion includes research and issues that are most critical to the client's business. Clients can also ask questions for more detailed advice and recommendations.
Talking Business audiocassettes help business leaders increase their
IT IQ. This series of six audiocassettes covers a wide range of critical IT issues that are discussed in business terms and from a strategic perspective.
