RoweCom, Inc. Announces Filing of Registration Statement for Initial Public Offering

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 14, 1998--RoweCom, Inc. today announced the filing of a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed initial public offering by RoweCom of its Common Stock. All of the shares to be registered will be offered by RoweCom, Inc. J.P. Morgan & Co. is the lead manager of the offering and CIBC Oppenheimer Corp. and Volpe Brown Whelan & Co. are co-managers. A preliminary prospectus, when available, may be obtained from J.P. Morgan & Co., 60 Wall Street, New York, NY 10266.
A registration statement relating to these securities has been filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, but has not yet become effective. These securities may not be sold, nor may offers to buy be accepted, prior to the time that the registration statement becomes effective.
