HP LaserJet 4000 Printer, HP LaserJet 5000 Printer and HP Leasing Program Receive Top Industry Awards
Business Wire, Dec 15, 1998
PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 15, 1998--Hewlett-Packard Company today announced that in the last three months its HP LaserJet 4000 printer, HP LaserJet 5000 printer and Lease HP program have garnered top honors from leading industry publications and associations.
The Lease HP program, as well as the HP LaserJet 4000 and HP LaserJet 5000 printers, both key components of HP's Digital Workplace strategy, received accolades from Information Technology Services Marketing Association, Computer Shopper and Better Buys For Business, respectively.
HP LaserJet Printers Honored
The HP LaserJet 4000 printer was recognized as the "Best Laser Printer" at Computer Shopper's 13th annual "Best Buy" awards ceremony, held at Fall Comdex '98. Computer Shopper's readers selected the winners in each category by choosing products that, "...offered technological excellence, as well as superior value to customers."
Both the HP LaserJet 4000 and HP LaserJet 5000 printers received the "Editor's Choice" nod in the 1998/1999 Better Buys for Business Mid-Volume Printer Guide in the "Sub-20ppm Workgroup Models" category. Better Buys for Business provides independent consumer guides to document-imaging equipment. "HP is the undisputed market leader in laser printers," according to the Better Buys for Business Mid-Volume Printer Guide. "It is the ultimate safe bet."
The guide also noted, "There is no doubt that the HP LaserJet 4000 models do deliver excellent image quality -- you really cannot get better in this market."
Lease HP Achieves Excellence
The Information Technology Services Marketing Association (ITSMA), a professional association dedicated to advancing services marketing in the information technology industry, honored the Lease HP program with the "Best in Class" award for the Sales Effectiveness category. This award, which was bestowed by a panel of industry peers and ITSMA staff, was created to select an organization that, "... demonstrated the ability to formulate a total marketing effort that drives sales effectiveness either directly, through channel partners, or both."
The Lease HP program provides small- to medium-sized businesses with end-of-lease-term options to purchase the product or a newer one.
"We are honored and extremely proud of the recognition we have received from the industry, particularly as these awards represent the choices of our customers, as well as the choices of independent, third-party publications and associations," said Walt Sledzieski, manager of HP's North American Hardcopy Marketing Center. "HP will continue to strive to exceed the needs of our customers and to maintain the high level of performance and quality in our products."
HP LaserJet Printers Amass Industry Recognition
HP LaserJet printers have earned hundreds of awards since the products were first introduced, in 1984. Last year alone, HP LaserJet printers garnered 39 awards, including PC Week's "Best of Comdex" award (Fall 1998) in the peripherals category, which honored the new HP Color LaserJet 4500 printer.
In addition to numerous awards, HP LaserJet printers also have received the top rating four years in a row in PC Magazine's annual "Printer Service and Reliability" readers' survey. HP LaserJet printers have met the high standards of both PC Magazine and its readers to earn an "A" grade the last four years running. PC Magazine's survey asked its readers to grade the printers in terms of overall satisfaction with reliability, repair, technical support and how many times the printers needed repair in the last 12 months. Based on these four measures, PC Magazine arrived at a Readers' Report Card that assigned a grade to every major printer vendor.
