PC DOCS/Fulcrum Licenses Chili!ASP to Enrich CyberDOCS; CyberDOCS to be Deployed on Netscape and Microsoft Web Servers
Business Wire, Dec 16, 1998
BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 16, 1998--Chili!Soft(tm), Inc. (www.chilisoft.com), the pioneer of cross-platform Active Server Pages (ASP), today announced an agreement with PC DOCS/Fulcrum, a global leader in document and knowledge management, to integrate Chili!ASP in a version of CyberDOCS(R) planned for release in 1999.
The agreement will allow CyberDOCS to be deployed for the first time on Netscape(R) servers for Microsoft(R) Windows NT(R), as well as Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS).
CyberDOCS is the ASP-based browser client to PC DOCS/Fulcrum's DOCSFusion(tm), the next-generation server engine for PC DOCS/Fulcrum's integrated knowledge management solutions, and to DOCS Open, its client-server document management system.
Chili!ASP enables cross-platform applications based on ASP, the mainstream Web application platform made broadly available by Microsoft. The integration of Chili!ASP in CyberDOCS will allow corporations to easily deploy CyberDOCS across the enterprise.
"More of our customers are choosing to implement PC DOCS/Fulcrum solutions using a Web server environment," said Craig Wallace, president and COO of PC DOCS/Fulcrum. "Integrating Chili!ASP with CyberDOCS increases the number of Web server platform choices available to our customers. This, in turn, can accelerate their return on their investment in intranet- and extranet-based CyberDOCS solutions."
"CyberDOCS is a great example of the sophistication and flexibility of the ASP platform," said Charles Crystle, founder and chief technology officer of Chili!Soft. "Fueled by the cross-platform power of the Chili!ASP engine, CyberDOCS underscores the opportunity that all ASP-enabled applications have to better serve their enterprise customers and expand their business base."
PC DOCS/Fulcrum products are used by many of the world's largest companies, among them 45% of Fortune 500 companies worldwide and, among these, 65 of the top 100. Through its n-tier architecture, DOCSFusion allows users to access, analyze and act on information in all corporate sources, transforming that information into value that reaches the bottom line.
