Latitude Communications Teams With Dialogic for Integrated Emergency Response and Conference Management Solution
Business Wire, Dec 16, 1998
SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 16, 1998--Latitude Communications and Dialogic Communications Corporation (DCC), have partnered to provide an integrated emergency notification and conference call solution. For the first time, the MeetingPlace conferencing system will allow DCC's The Communicator!(R) to immediately connect all required personnel into a single conference call.
MeetingPlace allows users to schedule, attend and manage voice and data conferences from touchtone telephones, PCs and the Internet. The Communicator notifies designated personnel via telephone, cell phone, pager or facsimile regarding emergency conditions. The partnership will allow industries such as healthcare, military, chemical corporations and transportation to respond to emergency and priority situations quickly and efficiently.
"The MeetingPlace conferencing system allows The Communicator's users to respond to high-priority situations faster by removing the time-consuming step of gathering and connecting participants on a single call," says Joe McFadden, director of marketing at Latitude.
"When there is an emergency," adds Dave Krikac, vice president of DCC, "there usually isn't time to make the necessary arrangements for conference calls. This partnership will automate the communications process and allow more time for users to concentrate on the situation at hand."
ABOUT MEETINGPLACE
The MeetingPlace conference server is the first in a new class of data-enabled voice conferencing systems. Unlike point solutions such as conference service bureaus, internal audio conferencing bridges, video conferencing systems and data collaboration tools, MeetingPlace enables innovative and interactive conferencing applications. The system leverages a company's existing communications infrastructure to manage the process of scheduling voice and data conferences, notifying participants, distributing meeting materials, managing the conferences and recording and archiving the meeting and related materials for future access via the Web or telephone.
