Linux -R- and Unix -R- Coming Soon

Corel Corporation (Nasdaq:COSFF)(TSE:COS) today announced the immediate availability of the multilingual download version of Corel(R) WordPerfect(R) 8 for Linux(R). The Corel(R) WordPerfect(R) 8 for Linux Personal Edition and the Corel(R) WordPerfect(R) 8 for Linux and UNIX(R) Server Edition are scheduled to be available shortly.

Each version includes the option to install the interface and writing tools in either English, French, Italian, German, Spanish and Dutch.

No Charge Download

From today until December 22, 1998, the no charge Corel WordPerfect 8 for Linux Personal Edition download is available exclusively from CNET ( www.download.com ). Users can also access the CNET site via ( http://linux.corel.com ). After Dec. 22, people interested in obtaining the no charge download can go to ( http://linux.corel.com ) to find out where it will be available.

Shrinkwrapped Personal Edition

A shrinkwrapped version of the multilingual Corel WordPerfect for Linux Personal Edition is scheduled to be available from local retailers in the early New Year for a suggested retail price of US $69.99(1).

Shrinkwrapped Server Edition for Linux and UNIX

A multilingual Server Edition of Corel WordPerfect 8 for Linux and UNIX is also scheduled to be available shortly from local distributors, the VAR channel and corporate resellers for a suggested retail price of US $495(1) for the full version and a suggested retail price of US $249(1) for the upgrade(2). The Server Edition has been compiled to run on Linux and a variety of UNIX platforms.
