Ion Systems Introduces the Cleanest Ionizer of Its Kind; Ultraclean Gas Jet AeroBar Requires Maintenance Less Than Once Per Quarter
Business Wire, Dec 2, 1998
BERKELEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 2, 1998--Ion Systems, a leading supplier of ionization solutions for the control of static charge, today introduced the latest addition to its Gas Jet product family, the Ultraclean Gas Jet AeroBar.
Incorporating single crystal silicon emitter points, the industry standard for class 1 or better ionizations, and a pre-flush of deionized water, the 5290eu Gas Jet AeroBar is the cleanest ionizer of its kind -- straight out of the package.
Like Ion Systems' other Gas Jet AeroBar ionizers, the Ultraclean Gas Jet AeroBar maintains a sheath of clean, dry air or nitrogen around its emitter points for ultra-low maintenance ionization. The gas sheath surrounding the emitter points helps to cut maintenance requirements by preventing particles from being attracted to the points, reducing the necessity for emitter point cleaning from once per quarter to once every six to 12 months, depending on the cleanliness of the gas being supplied to it.
The Gas Jet AeroBar, designed primarily for manufacturers of semiconductors and flat panel displays (FPDs), can be used in any mini-environment.
"The industry demands ultraclean operating solutions," said Scott Gehlke, president and CEO of Ion Systems. "Given the ever-shortening time-to-market cycle for semiconductor products, maintaining entirely static- and dust-free environments at every stage is absolutely critical."
Like its predecessor, the Gas Jet 5290ec, the 5290eu operates at a fraction of the airflow of competitive systems. Aerodynamically designed nozzles enable the unit to provide excellent static discharge and ion balance performance, even at low flow rates.
The 5290eu offers customers a significant reduction in maintenance costs. Rather than the standard once per quarter emitter cleaning, the 5290eu only needs maintenance every six to 12 months, depending on the environment and cleanliness of the gas supplied to the product.
Ion Systems, an ISO 9001 certified company, develops and manufactures ionizers and instrumentation for controlling damage, contamination, and process interruption caused by static charge in high-tech manufacturing environments. The company's suite of products range from room ionization systems to equipment ionizers and electronics assembly area ionizing blowers.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, Ion Systems has an extensive global support network and is headquartered at 1005 Parker Street, Berkeley, CA 94170. Additional information, news and events about the company can be accessed on the Internet at www.ion.com.
