Frontier Insurance Group, Inc. Hires New Vice President and Chief Actuary

ROCK HILL, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 23, 1998--Frontier Insurance Group, Inc. (Frontier) (NYSE-FTR) announced today the hiring of Mark S. Allaben, FCAS, MAAA, Vice President and Chief Actuary. Mr. Allaben's primary responsibilities will include management of the Group's rate making and loss reserving functions.
Most recently, Mr. Allaben was Senior Vice President and Chief Actuary of the Solutions Management Division of Zurich Personal Insurance with responsibility for the actuarial, corporate underwriting and regulatory areas. Prior thereto, he was the Manager of Actuarial Consulting of the Property and Casualty division of KPMG Peat Marwick and had previously spent 18 years as an actuary at Travelers.
Harry Rhulen, Frontier's Chief Executive Officer, stated, "We invested a considerable amount of time to recruit the right executive level actuary to interface with our business units. I am confident Mark will enhance our strong senior management team and look forward to the contributions his extensive actuarial experience will bring to the Group."
