Competitive Edge Creates a ``Maui Makeover for Business Women: the Affordable Spa'' and Offers It as a Great Last Minute Christmas Gift Idea!
Business Wire, Dec 24, 1998
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 23, 1998-- Competitive Edge Wednesday announced a new "self-directed" spa to help business women experience the luxury of a five star resort, massages, group discussions, healthy eating and exercise for 1/5 the price of a traditional spa.
This three night, four-day mind/body/spirit spa consists of a small group of women who share a structured program of exercise, good diet, discussion, fun, and professionally provided massages at the Maui Marriott at gorgeous Kaanapali Beach.
This affordable spa ($500) experience includes the four-day program, two free massages, a free hair (shampoo) appointment, tennis and health club access, and Maui Makeover gift. The Maui Makeover is particularly aimed at women who want a healthy lifestyle, e.g., nutritious diet, fun exercise and more joy in their lives. The spa uses the "buddy system" to help participants establish eating and exercise goals and stay on track.
Although participants make and pay for their own air and hotel reservations, the spa materials include a tip sheet on how to fly to Maui and stay at the Maui Marriott for less than half what you normally would pay. If participants want to room together, they can arrange that through Competitive Edge to cut costs. Total costs are easily under $1,000.
Dr. Sheila Kessler, an internationally recognized consultant in business quality, leads the Maui Makeover. She previously worked for Microsoft and Fluor Daniel, the largest engineering company in the United States. She has written nine books, including the best selling "Measuring and Managing Customer Satisfaction: Going for the Gold." The Maui Makeover uses some of the same concepts that she has used to transform her Fortune 500 clients. The concepts have also been proven to enhance personal quality of life -- including her own.
The main goals of the Makeover are to expand friendships with professional women, reestablish healthy eating behaviors, learn how to make exercise more fun and most of all -- practice being joyful. (No grumps are allowed!)
Two separate spas will be held Jan. 28 - Feb. 1 and Feb. 19-22. Space is very limited. Registration deadline is Jan. 15.
