Business Wire, Dec 29, 1998
DALLAS--(BW HealthWire)--Dec. 29, 1998--The Shams Group (TSG), in conjunction with partners (Health+Cast, Technologies and Prologix) sponsored The Second Annual Technology Summit aboard a cruise ship, Dec. 11-14, 1998. The purpose of the summit was to provide the 35 attending executives with the latest in innovative technology for hospitals and to cultivate an exchange of ideas between industry leaders.
"TSG wants to educate hospital decision-makers about the available solutions in the marketplace and also proactive steps to take when considering issues that may occur in the future -- we achieved that and more at this conference," said TSG President and CEO Kamruddin Shams.
The agenda consisted of educational sessions presented by high level executives from four different hospitals and also the most current products and solutions from TSG partners. Topics included: Strategy for Data Warehouse/Repository and its Role in the Healthcare Enterprise, Healthcare Information Technology Strategies and Architecture, IT Role in Re-engineering and Re-design of Organization Process, Bringing Legacy (MEDITECH) Systems into the GUI/Web/Windows/CE World without Draining your Resources and Increasing the Value of IT Staff through Decision Support.
"I was very impressed with the conference. We received information that can be put to use in the further development of information technology at our organization," said Executive VP Don Brezicka, Austin Medical Center, Austin, Minn.
The in-depth content, in conjunction with interaction from individuals from every aspect of the industry, exposed attendees to the most advanced techniques and technology available. Speakers were able to discuss the issues first-hand, using their own experiences from their respective organizations.
"The quality of the presentations was most impressive as was the knowledge of the attendees. We are looking forward to working with TSG to implement our solutions at various MEDITECH customer sites," said Billy Martin, VP of Sales and Marketing, Health+Cast.
This was the second conference in an ongoing annual series that TSG will be sponsoring, along with other participating vendors. By using the feedback from attendees, TSG will continue to improve the content and overall conference by evolving the content and outline of the summit according to the needs of the marketplace, said Shams.
The Shams Group Inc. (TSG) was established in 1989 to provide integration software and consulting to the MEDITECH marketplace using critical thinking concepts. Later, this led to a series of software for improving processes and integrating disparate systems across the enterprise. Today, TSG is the largest MEDITECH specialty firm offering superior consulting, software integration and process automation technology, and software in areas of Data Warehousing/Decision Support, Case/Disease Management, Document Imaging, Transcription System, etc.
