TDI Delivers Advanced Business Management Solutions Powered By IONA Technologies' Orbix
Business Wire, Dec 4, 1998
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 4, 1998--Technology Deployment International, Inc. (TDI), today announced the release of their WDWF (WebDeploy(tm):Workflow) EPB (External Performance Broker) powered by IONA Technologies' (NASDAQ:IONAY) Orbix(r). TDI's WDWF is an object-oriented, Web-based, distributed workflow system, which lets users define, implement, execute and streamline their business processes from anywhere over the Web. TDI's WDWF EPB, which uses IONA's Orbix to enable it to seamlessly integrate with other IT systems, is a key component of WDWF. It connects WDWF engines to various application agents as well as other WDWF engines.
Orbix, the world's leading product for Making Software Work Together(tm), allows the WDWF system to enable organizations to develop and manage business processes in a distributed environment. WDWF EPB automates business processes with CORBA(R) agents, reducing the involvement of human beings, and saving money and time while eliminating human error. WDWF EPB also allows the product to be scaleable; multiple WDWF engines are able to talk to each other. Thus companies may continue to expand their system regardless of how many branch offices they may have. In addition, business partners can do collaborative work by using WDWF EPB to enable their systems to work together.
"We are excited to have become partners with IONA," commented Dr. Khoshafian, Vice President of Advanced Information Systems at TDI. "IONA's Orbix, a market leading CORBA implementation, provides a flexible and scaleable infrastructure for WDWF which allows our customers to excel in a heterogeneous environment. WDWF powered by IONA's Orbix is the next generation Business Management and E-Commerce solutions where humans, organizations, and automated agents collaborate to achieve business goals."
"TDI's integration of Orbix delivers a solution to companies who are faced with the challenge of managing multiple locations," stated Noel Toolan, senior vice president of market development at IONA Technologies. "In order for these companies to stay competitive it is imperative that they develop a system to work with their branch offices or trading partners in different locations quickly and efficiently. The combination of TDI's Web based workflow technology and IONA's CORBA technology is an ideal solution for this."
