TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 8, 1998--
Company Using JDK(tm) 1.2 To Enhance Its ST-1
Authentication Soft Tokens
CRYPTOCard today announced its support for the next release of the Java(tm) Development Kit from Sun Microsystems, Inc. CRYPTOCard is using the feature-rich JDK 1.2 to develop an advanced version of its software authentication token - the ST-1 - desktop software that provides users with a unique, one-time password for each network logon attempt. Sun announced the availability of JDK 1.2 today during the JavaSM Business ExpoSM in New York.
Stephen D. Seal, vice president of development and support for CRYPTOCard, comments, "Since our products are designed to provide enterprise-wide security solutions, it is vitally important that they function on any given desktop. This is exactly what Java provides: Platform independence - the ability to run anywhere. We are pleased to continue the positive relationship we began with Sun Microsystems when we introduced the world's first Java authentication token in October, 1997. Using JDK 1.2 we will soon make available to our customers a new version of the CRYPTOCard soft token which is streamlined in look and feel while providing even greater ease of use."
"We are delighted that CRYPTOCard is incorporating the enhanced features of JDK 1.2 in their next generation of soft tokens," said John Kannegard, vice president and general manager of the Java platform at Sun Microsystems, Inc.'s Java Software. "CRYPTOCard's customers will benefit from solutions based on the Java platform."
