Turner Awarded Renovation Contract With Northshore School District 112, Highland Park, Illinois

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 27, 1998--The Turner Corporation (AMEX:TUR), the nation's leading general builder, today announced that the Chicago business unit of its Turner Construction Company subsidiary has been awarded a construction management contract by the Northshore School District 112, Highland Park, Illinois for $50 million of renovation and additions to ten elementary and middle schools, as well as the construction of one new elementary school housing 500 students.
The architect for the project is the Chicago, Illinois based firm of Perkins & Will. Construction is scheduled to commence during the summer recess of 1998.
"The Northshore School District project is yet another example of the continued investment by the Chicago area community in education and its young people," remarked John A. DiCiurcio, vice president and general manager of the Chicago business unit. "Turner has over $100 million in K-12 education projects currently underway in Illinois in 1998."
