Moss Micro Inc. Friday announced that it has signed a contract for an enterprisewide client information system with Townsend and Townsend and Crew LLP, with headquarters in San Francisco.
Under the terms of the contract, Moss Micro will implement and customize ActiveSales for 120 attorneys, their legal assistants and their administrative staff in San Francisco, Palo Alto, Seattle and Denver. This system will support more than 200 users and is a key part of Townsend's strategy in offering an unparalleled combination of intellectual-property and litigation legal services.
With this contract, Townsend users in every office will be able to effectively manage their client, matter and contact information (and the relationship between each) with ActiveSales' advanced navigation, search and filter components.
In addition, Townsend will rely on ActiveSales' Microsoft Word integration capabilities to streamline the high volume of legal documents demanded by an intellectual-property legal practice. And to keep client information up to date and accurate among all four offices, Townsend plans to take advantage of ActiveSales' synchronization functionality.
Townsend's client information system includes the ActiveSales enterprise application technology ``core,'' featuring an industry- leading, scalable component-centric architecture; the SyncAgent, a comprehensive synchronization module for remote users; the DistributionAgent, a module for implementing new desktop functionality without user and administrative interaction; and the ConnectionAgent, a module to provide high-speed connectivity to a variety of one or more data sources. The complete system provides all the advanced information-system features required by the legal industry.
``Townsend is the first to implement an enterprisewide client information system in the legal industry using Moss Micro's ActiveSales technology. We are pleased to partner with Townsend to deploy this system and streamline their document-intensive legal practice,'' said Jill Anderson, vice president of Partner Relations at Moss Micro.
``Regardless of the industry, every organization needs a better way to manage client information and interact with clients, whether they are offering legal services, financial services, or even products. Our knowledge and experience of client information systems translates perfectly to Townsend's situation.''
