Internal Zip Drive Now Available for PowerBook G3 Through Apple Store

ACTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 1998--Further expanding the versatility of the new Macintosh PowerBook(r) G3 Series notebook, Apple Computer, Inc., VST Technologies Inc. and Iomega have teamed up to offer Apple customers purchasing through the Apple Store (www.apple.com) the opportunity to configure their notebook with an internal 100MB Zip(tm) drive.
The VST Zip100 Drive, made especially for the PowerBook G3 Series notebook, reads/writes standard 100MB Iomega Zip Disks and works in either of the notebook's two expansion bays, providing users with the ultimate removable storage solution. The VST Zip100 Drive is bootable out of the box - includes Mac OS 8, and is hot-swappable with any other expansion bay device. The VST Zip100 also ships with a 100MB Zip Tools disk, featuring a bootable version of Mac OS 8, Iomega tools, RecordIt and DiskFit Pro.
The VST drive is available through the Apple Store now as an accessory to a custom-configured PowerBook G3 Series notebook computer for $249.
