BURLINGAME, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 15, 1998--Spinner.com, the pioneering Internet music service, has joined the Associates program of leading online retailer Amazon.com as part of an extensive alliance.

Spinner.com is the newly re-named Internet music service that has been bitcasting music over the Web for more than two years as TheDJ.com.

The initial agreement provides for Spinner.com to prominently feature a "Buy This CD at Amazon.com" link throughout its popular audio player products. More than two million music lovers rely on Spinner.com for genre-specific, interruption-free music. These online audiophiles can now instantly purchase CDs through Amazon.com whenever they hear the music they crave on Spinner.com.

"Amazon.com's music store offers unique new ways for consumers to discover and buy music," said Shawn Haynes, group product manager, Amazon.com. "Working with Spinner.com complements our services by giving Web users the opportunity to seamlessly integrate their music listening with online shopping."

Spinner.com pleases every musical palate by delivering more than 100 highly differentiated music channels, drawing a finely segmented mass audience and 20 million page views per month. Amazon.com will be the exclusive music fulfillment source for Spinner.com, with Spinner.com earning a percentage of all revenue from music, book and video sales.

The agreement also includes a substantial rich media advertising buy (in-stream audio advertising and audio-enhanced banners) on Spinner.com.

"Millions of listeners have embraced our Internet music service," said Josh Felser, president of Spinner.com. "Combining our music with Amazon.com's unparalleled online retailing environment provides our audience with the best of both worlds. We know this association will enable Spinner.com to more effectively sell music across our Web site."
