Business Wire, July 16, 1998
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 16, 1998--
Key Hires Strengthen Senior Management Team; Continue Build of National Infrastructure
ATC Group Services Inc. (ATC) announced today that Paul Grillo has joined the company's senior management team as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Further strengthening ATC's financial management team, Rachel Trant has also joined as Corporate Controller, reporting to Grillo. ATC is a leading national provider of professional consulting, engineering, and testing services for the environmental and construction materials industries.
Grillo brings to the company over 23 years of financial and senior management experience in the professional services industry, with particular expertise in mergers and acquisitions. Grillo will report to Nick Malino, ATC President and CEO, and will be responsible for all tax, treasury, investor relations, information systems, financial strategic initiatives, and long-range financialplanning. Trant will assume management responsibility for all of the company's accounting and financial reporting functions, including implementing a company-wide financial management system.
According to Malino, the addition of Grillo to ATC's senior management team reinforces the financial capabilities of this rapidly expanding company. "ATC's business model centers around a highly-aggressive growth plan - and is based on strategic acquisitions designed to further solidify our strong national client relationships and expand our comprehensive services and branch network," said Malino. "Paul's extensive background in acquisitions and helping private and public companies manage rapid growth will be instrumental as ATC continues its expansion, enters new markets, and evaluates financial alternatives to support this growth.
"With the addition of both Paul and Rachel to our financial team, we are well positioned to capitalize on increasing market opportunities and become one of the dominant players in the growing, but still fragmented professional services industry," continued Malino.
Grillo joined ATC from COMFORCE Corporation, Lake Success, New York, the nation's fastest growing, publicly-held staffing, outsourcing, and consulting company. As Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer he helped direct the company's rapid growth from $50 million to almost $500 million in 24 months, including six financing transactions which raised over $280 million in expansion capital to fund an aggressive acquisition strategy. Prior to COMFORCE, Grillo provided business planning and acquisition advisory services to a number of industries including telecommunications, contract services, manufacturing, publishing, and real estate management.
Grillo received his Master of Business Administration in Corporate Finance and Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Rutgers University where he earned Summa Cum Laude, and Cum Laude honors, respectively.
Trant, with over 25 years of financial management expertise, joined ATC from Nanmac Corporation, Framingham, Mass. At Nanmac, Trant held several positions, including Director on the Board of Directors, CFO/Treasurer, and Controller. Prior positions include Controller with Florida Lime Growers, Inc., Goulds, Fla. and CFO/Treasurer with the Kendall Companies, Goulds, Fla. Trant received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Finance from Northeastern University where she earned Summa Cum Laude honors.
Grillo will be based at ATC's executive offices in New York, NY; Trant at the company's corporate headquarters in Woburn, Mass.
